Good ol' BBQ pit stop-like eatery in an industrial neighborhood of San Jose. Lots of character and plenty of tasty choices.

I pass by this place ALL the time cause my friend lives around the neighborhood. I wouldn't have known that it was a BBQ place. You need to spot it carefully. Make sure you see the white truck. There is very limited parking. I heard about this place because my boyfriend raved about this place and how he comes here multiple times a week! Of course, the food smells delicious. For $9, you get alot of food. I usually get the combination of chicken, tri-tips, and ribs. You get potato salad, beans and your choice of bread. Tri-tips are so tender and the chicken just falls off the bones! Ribs are good w/ right amount of flavor. Potato salad is my favorite. I tried their hot links too. It's good also and spicy! If I remember, they only take cash? I forget since I haven't been there in so long! I'm due for another visit!

I've been lagging on my review for this, but this place has really really good ribs & chicken!
I pass by this place everyday going to school & back since I live close-by so one day when my boyfriend picked me up, I decided to take him here. Their lunch menu combo's are $9, or well, most of them are and for the past few times I went, I got the 2 ribs & 1 chicken combo. Before 2011, it used to be $9 flat, but now, they charge tax ): but I think it's still worth it because it's still under $10 ! it's like $9.81?! or something like that. The chicken and ribs are fall off the bone. Every single time I pick up the chicken, the meat totally falls off the bone & it's so easy to eat, it's almost like it just totally melts in your mouth. Usually when I eat ribs, I have a hard time cleaning up the whole bone, but at Jon Jon's, I'm able to rip some pieces apart since they're so tender & eat my ribs clean!
The lady who works there is very generous with the portions too. The first time I went, she gave an extra rib, & the last time I went, she snuck in an extra chicken so instead of one, there were two! The lunch combo's come with a side of baked beans & potato salad, which aren't that bad.

& what I also like about Jon Jon's is that the atmosphere makes you feel like you're eating at a backyard BBQ because you actually see the grill that they're grilling the food on & you leave smelling like you just came from a BBQ! :)

The food is great.  Some of the best BBQ that I have had.  The dine in decorating could be better, but go for the food.

Now that is good BBQ! It's always the hole in the wall places that have the best food. I had the lunch combo for $9 that was a hot link, two ribs and some tri-tip with beans, potato salad and bread. So much food for the price! Don't get me wrong, I ate it all and then rolled back to work with a serious case of the itis but it was worth it. I will defiantly go back and next time I'm making sure to try the cornbread.

Was craving BBQ for  lunch and sent the BF to pick it up for me for lunch while I was at work. I got the ribs and chicken combo and he got the tri tip and rib combo coming out to $26 for both without a drink. The potato salad wasn't interesting and the beans were alright, nice and toned down. The rib wasn't as succulent but the chicken was good. The sauce was definitely sickly SWEET.  After eating it and having some left overs... made me feel a bit sick and unsettling to the stomach. I think I will look for other places around work before I ever go back to get food from here.

$9 for a good combo plate in San Jose is almost unheard of...until now.  I had the tri-tip, rib and hot link combo.  I liked the ribs the best, because the sauce was delicious.  The cornbread isn't great so save your appetite for the real food.  I'll definitely be back to try the other combos.

Remember that it's cash only and closes pretty early.
