AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!
If you have a dog that requires grooming, you know how ridiculous some groomers make your beloved pet look. My little boys are no exception. Luckily, I have found the best and am trying to forget the rest (like I ever could).
I have a yorkie-poo and a beagle-pekinese and they both look amazing, thanks to Lindsey. I can't believe I haven't written a review before now, but I just got my little guys back from Spawtlight looking and smelling like new, and realized it was about time I sat down and wrote this.
Bravo Lindsey and the crew at Spawtlight, I (we) will follow you anywhere!

My dog, Murphy, is the cutest muffin. But get him near water, and he'll have a panic attack of epic proportions. Still . . . Lindsey is great with him. Every time I pick him up he is happy as a clam. You would never know that moments earlier he was in catatonic shock.
More importantly, he looks perfect - not too long, not too short, and all over adorable.

After looking for a top-notch dog groomer in San Diego on Yelp for Julian, our 2-year old malt-a-poo, I had high expectations from Spawtlight Dog Salon and Spa before our first visit. Based on her Yelp reviews, you can see that Lindsey has a loyal following and a pristine reputation among dog owners. In short, Lindsey surpassed our already high expectations! Your dog will look his/her best when Lindsey is done...and be a happy puppy too!
Lindsey had a 9:30am Sunday morning opening. We arrived on time and Lindsey was ready to go. We filled out a simple pet history form, then handed Julian over to Lindsey. She asked us what type of cut and services we wanted, but we trusted her judgement performing whatever grooming services she deemed necessary for Julian without regard for costs. She told us to expect a call 2.5 - 3 hours later which would be about ten minutes before completion. Her call arrived on time. When we went to pick Julian up, we were awed by his impeccable new look. He looked like he just won best-of-breed at a dogshow and smelled wonderful. His coat was silky smooth, fluffy and pearly white. The cut was precise and better than any former grooming he had received from anywhere else. Lindsey explained that she does most of the clipping with shears instead of clippers and learned the artform from an expert Japanese dog groomer. In addition to bathing, clipping, and nailcare, we received the free blueberry facial as promoted on Lindsey's website. And the cost was no more than we've spent elsewhere for less impressive results.
And as others have noted, Lindsey maintains a clean, cage-free salon for the dogs and dries the dogs with hand-held driers, not kennel driers. Julian's tail was wagging happily when we picked him up, indicating that he had a low-stress, good time with Lindsey. The other dogs at the salon had beautiful, breed appropriate styles and were happy pooches as well.
We found our groomer of choice, and I doubt you can find a better groomer anywhere.
You ROCK Lindsey!

I have been wanting a puppy for a while now but alas my landlord is not pet friendly..boo. Next best thing: I was able to dog sit for eight whole days..yay!
Of course I took the opportunity to spoil this pup in every way, I would imagine, a dog would love and appreciate. This adorable basset hound came to work with me everyday and I loved every moment spent with him. After day two of chauffeuring this pooch around town, my car and my office began to reek of dirty dog...thus a trip to a groomer was a must!
I had no idea dog grooming was in such high demand; in fact, I was quite shocked when one establishment informed me they are not taking any new clients until next year.
Enter Spawtlight Dog Salon! I called to make an appointment and was disheartened when the kind lady said she was booked through the weekend. I said thanks anyway and began gearing up for another round of groomer search. She then asked what the dog required and I informed her a standard bath would suffice. She graciously squeezed an appointment in for the basset boy that same day so off we went to the dog salon.
Upon arrival, Lindsey was incredibly kind and friendly. I thanked her a million times for making time for his doggie de-stink. She said she would do her best but would probably not have time for the most detailed of washings..at this point, I just wanted pups to feel fresh and clean with the added bonus of my car ceasing to smell like a pet shelter.
Standard operating procedure is dog drop off and they call you when he's clean. No crates in sight here, those awaiting their turn have plenty of room to roam; they also asked if it was okay to give him treats. I'm sure this pup was stoked on that bonus. An hour later they called to tell me the dog wash was done. When I returned, Lindsey informed me that not only was she able to give the pup a bath, but also cleaned his ears, expressed his anal glands and clipped his nails. I was extremely pleased to hear he got the VIP salon experience!
Pooch was happy and clean as can be, plus he had a cute autumn themed bandanna around his neck. The next surprise came when it was time to pay...I was expecting the service to be fairly pricey especially considering the last minute appointment. Wrong. No additional fee and the total was less than any quote I received from other groomers.
The beautiful basset hound gives Spawtlight Dog Salon 5 woofs!

Looking for a great groomer is hard! After reading all the fantastic Yelp reviews I thought I would give Lindsey a try. I am soo glad I did. Although I made the worst first impression and showed up late to our appointment, she was totally cool.
It's a great space and I love that the dogs can roam around. No worries about your baby getting shoved in a crate for hours! Bella came out looking beautiful and smelling great! Lindsey said that if for some reason we go home and didn't like the cut or wanted it shorter she would fix it free of charge.
We are definitely going to keep coming back!

Hands Down, Lindsey Ward is the best groomer in San Diego! She always leaves my Stella looking gorgeous and has excellent prices. I've already referred several family and friends and they too have become loyal customers :)
