Helpful staff and it's great having instant access to quality bike parts. A little pricey, but you are paying for quality.

My ex first got me into cycling and if I have to take one great thing from that relationship, it's that he introduced me to Velo Cult. This place truly rocks! If you're looking for a seriously super bike store where the friendly and knowledgeable staff can work on your bike, help you select new equipment or even recommend some great trails, this is definitely the place to go. Velo Cult is all about bike culture, but one thing they're not is pretentious or stuck up. I don't know how it got to be that so many cyclists think they're better than everybody else, but Velo Cult is very welcoming and accepting of anyone, all levels of skill included. There's no way I will take my bike or bike-related questions anywhere else.

I'm a newbie to world of biking. I found Velo Cult while exploring South Park and was happy to see a nearby shop.  After reading stellar yelp reviews and being impressed by their website (especially the top notch photography), I knew I had to check it out.

I've had a number of snobby bike shop experiences, but Velo Cult is as good as it gets. Their customer service is the best I've had at a bike shop. Sky and the rest of the gang were welcoming and happy to drop a little knowledge about their bikes, locks and anything else I pointed at and exclaimed, "Oh, what is that?"

Not only did I find a great lock, but Sky volunteered to install the lock fixture on to my bike. Something I'd be ill-equipped to do myself. I watched it, there was fire involved. Way out of my league.

It was at this point that they went above and beyond. The Gent installing my lock noticed there was something wrong with my back breaks and took the effort to make some adjustments and fill up my tires. Customer service like this blows my mind. Especially, since my bike is a knock-off French riding bike -- I discovered modeled after the truly incredible bikes they carry in their shops (which I intend to upgrade to ASAP!).  I wouldn't have blamed a shop of this caliber to be a bit judgmental. Heck, I was judging my own bike amongst the amazing stock.

They could have simply sold me any lock and sent me on my way. I wouldn't have known any better. But they didn't, and it's because they love bikes.

Awesome bike shop. Honest service. Helpful and pleasant employees. Hubby and I have gone to VC a couple of times for bike parts and minor repairs. It's always a fun trip. The guys that work there aren't condescending Aholes who think they're cooler than you because they know about bikes. They are willing to share their knowledge and seem to like their work. I have never purchased a brand new bike, but I am in love with the Long Haul Trucker they let me test ride. That's another thing: they let you browse without pressure. I also want to mention how beautiful the archetecture is in this space. Check it out and get a burger next door. :)

these guys are the best, only guys I trust to lace my wheels. they are super friendly and way knowledgable without the attitude so often found in bike shops.

Wow! (and I never use the word "Wow")

I was looking at purchasing a Brooks Saddle when I stumbled upon this slice of heaven.

First, I have to declare that I'm a performance/racing/lycra clad type of cyclist.  Back in October after a very bad crash in Death Valley, I limped into this shop by pure accident while pondering the possibility of switching from Carbon to Steel.  I had just left a Tri/Roadie store over in Kearny Mesa, and couldn't believe the dicotomy between these two shops.  I met the owner who gave me a brief history of how this slice of heaven had come to be.  He even offered me a "beverage".   Every detail about this shop is beautiful (and I never use the word "beautiful").  The day I was there, the owner had to cut our chit-chat short because of a group ride that was forming in front of the shop.  Velo Cult is all about bike culture in the classical sense.  No other shop around presents a better case of why bikes do belong in our world than Velo Cult.
